Manoochehr Ala'i (Manoo)

Manoo passed peacefully, in the presence of loved ones, at 1:23 pm, Thursday 25 June 2026 in Auckland, 10 days short of his 97th birthday.
Beloved father of Suzanne and Kevin, Paree and the late Wayne, Julian and Linda, Reza and Tracey; cherished grandfather of Richard, Daniel, Rose, Jeremy, Ben, Jordana, Enzo, Ruby, Harriet and their partners; Grandad to 13 great- grandchildren; and a loved brother and uncle; now reunited with his adored wife Margaret.
Manoo leaves a legacy of service to his family, to Baha'u'llah, to farming, and to the community. His qualities of courage, steadfastness, generosity, resilience, faith, and service have left their enduring mark.
Special thanks to Alex and the team at Elizabeth Knox for their care of Manoo and to the community of Orewa where he lived for the latter part of his life.
Funeral service 12:30 pm Monday 29 June, Morrisons Main Chapel, 220 Universal Drive, Henderson. Following the service the burial will take place at Swanson Cemetery.
